How do you know so much about safety and street smarts?
Street Smart

As I told you before I did self defense seminars all over America and studied everything I could related to personal safety.

WOW!

That and being from NEW YORK made me naturally paranoid about people.

What are some things you learned growing up in NY?

Well my father always told me “If it is too good to be true, it probably is”
If it is too good to be true, it probably is”

What does that mean?

If something sounds too good, it is most likely bullshit. For example, if someone is selling a brand new iPad for only 80$ then something is wrong. Don’t buy it, maybe it is stolen or broken.

“If it is too good to be true, it probably is” That’s a good saying.
“If it is too good to be true, it probably is” (진짜라고 하기에는 너무 좋다)

Another one, ” nothing is free”
그리고 Nothing is free 도 있어요.

What is free is going to cost you in some other way.

How so?

Say for example some guy wants to buy you a free drink at the bar, well the drink really isn’t free because now you should talk to him for 10 minutes. The drink costs you your time.

Wow I never thought about it that way. Nothing is free!
Nothing is free.

Yes! Especially in big cities, be a little paranoid when someone gives you something for free. They want something in return for it.
